COVID Safe Audience Information
Everyone at Smile Theatre Company looks forward to welcoming you to our shows.
We are monitoring advice from the Australian and Victorian Governments and will continue to update this page with the latest information about how we are making our productions COVID Safe.
We would like to thank you for your cooperation in assisting us with keeping the magic of live theatre alive and well.
If you are coming to one of our shows, we ask that you please review the below information to help keep you and others safe:
Ticketing – Tickets can be pre-booked prior to the performance which can then be picked up at the door on the night. Proof of vaccination will be required at that time. If you are unable to supply proof you will not be admitted. There will be tickets available for purchase at the door, however once again proof of vaccination will be required. As listed below.
Get Vaccinated – Currently, all audience members will need to be fully vaccinated (unless a valid exemption applies) in order to attend any of our shows.
Be ready to prove your vaccination status – As per Government requirements, you will need to prove your vaccination status. The easiest way to do this is via the Services Victoria app on your smart phone. For more information in how to do this click here. Alternatively, you can show a digital or printed copy of your vaccination certificate. Please note: Smile Theatre Company reserves the right to refuse admission to those who we suspect have a forged proof of vaccine.
If you are feeling unwell, please stay home – Please do not attend the venue if you have been unwell, have recently returned from an identified red zone, have visited an exposure site, or have been advised to isolate by DHHS. Please stay home if you are showing symptoms of COVID-19, in isolation as a result of a COVID-19 diagnosis or awaiting COVID-19 test results, or are in quarantine as a returning international traveller or have been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19.
Ticket exchanges and refunds are available – If you are unwell and cannot make a performance, please contact office@smiletheatre.org to arrange for a ticket exchange or refund.
Be prepared to check in – At all performances, audience members will be required to check in upon arrival. This will be done using a Services Victoria QR code. If you are unable to check in via a QR code, we will have the option for you to check in manually at the performance.
Arrive early – We recommend arriving 30 minutes prior to the show start time. There will be no late admissions.
Bring your mask – Masks are currently required to be worn, unless a valid exemption applies.
Undertake good hand and respiratory hygiene – Make use of the hand sanitiser that will be available at the entrance to the foyer and throughout the venue, and sneeze or cough into your elbow.
Practice good physical distancing – Where it’s practical to do so, please ensure that you keep your distance when queuing and moving throughout the foyer and auditorium. Signage throughout the theatre will help with this.
We prefer contactless payments – Refreshments and programs will be available, and will accept cashless transactions.
Make your way to your seat – We will open the theatre early to allow you to take your seat rather than waiting in the foyer area. Please remain in your assigned seat.
If a performance is cancelled – we will be in contact with the ticket purchaser to arrange for an exchange or refund. Check our website and social media for all the latest information.
We aim to provide a COVID Safe experience – Our COVID Safe plan involves cleaning of the venue both before and after performances, frequent cleaning of high touch points (such as door handles and railings), and training our cast, crew, front of house staff, and production team. If, during your visit, you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask any of our team.
